Applied Genomic Center is to promote and enhance collaborative efforts on genomic and bioinformatics research. The Center aims to become an internationally renowned base for genomic and medical research; to advance basic applied research on traditional Chinese medicine and actively promote the innovation and development of biological medicine in the Pearl River Delta region.
Areas of Focus:
- |
Develop evidence-based prevention, precise diagnosis, and effective disease management for complex disorders such as schizophrenia and cancer. |
- |
Use of genomics, bioinformatics, biochemistry and molecular biology to investigate the molecular mechanisms of neuropsychiatric diseases, to determine relationships between genetic and environmental factors and identify novel drug targets. |
- |
Establish relationships between genotype and disease occurrence, phenotype and response to therapy, thereby advancing the development of personalized medicine. |
Services
- |
Technology transfer to R&D companies and industry. Provide collaborations for the development of novel diagnostics and of active ingredients from natural products. |
- |
The center will offer various consulting and technical services in the areas of bioinformatics and genome analysis. |
- |
Training courses and workshops offered to China's Department of Health, hospitals and research institutes. |
