A new campus of the Research Institute located inside the existing Nansha IT Park is being built and expected to be ready by 2011, to help facilitate a new spatiality of knowledge.
The new Nansha campus will be about a green and rural ambiance between water and mountains suitable for a unique research academic lifestyle, with a highly respect to the current Chinese garden style and beautiful natural settings of the IT park.
It will be an open campus with borderless internal and external spaces, and a sustainable campus fully considering the natural environment and the future development.
The site area is roughly 36,000 sqm and the total construction floor area is around 25,000 sqm. The main building comprises of Technology Block and Administrative Block.
Technology Block is equipped with dry labs, which are suited for housing electronic apparatus / instrument and computers to support research activities in electronics, information technology, physics etc, wet labs, which are designed to fit the research needs in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, materials, chemical engineering, environmental technology, and central facilities.
Administrative Block includes lecture theatres, classrooms, library, computer barn, offices and auxiliary facilities etc.
The infrastructure will be able to meet the needs of research, education and training programs of the Research Centers in Fok Ying Tung Research Institute.
