UNIQUE FEATURES
 
 
Two Master's Degrees in Three Years
 
This program offers a unique path to students to obtain a taught master degree and a research master degree from HKUST and SCUT respectively. Students will have the opportunity to be taught by experienced researchers and leading academics from both universities. The HKUST taught master degree provides the solid foundation for students to continue their research projects and thesis at SCUT.
MSc Degree from HKUST
  Students will spend 2 semesters at the HKUST's Nansha Campus in GuangZhou, and the summer session at the Clear Water Bay Campus in Hong Kong.
Research Master Degree from SCUT
  Students will concentrate their research thesis work with their supervisors at the SCUT campus.
English as the Medium of Instruction for the MSc Degree
  All lectures and materials for the MSc Program are in English.

 
 

MSc PROGRAM OVERVIEW
 
 
Computer Science and Technology constitutes the foundation for numerous applications in every facet of society: industry, government, finance, services, entertainment, logistics, etc. It is a rapidly expanding and fast-moving field. To stay ahead professionally and to succeed in this new information age, both new graduates and working professionals in the computer-related field need to keep pace with the new advances and engage in continuous learning and upgrading.
 
This Master of Science in Computer Science and Technology (MScCST) program emphasizes an integrated approach to the study of computers and computing methods to collect, process, analyze and transmit information, to support relevant and useful application in modern life. It offers student up-to-date technical knowledge that are changing the way we work and influencing today’s lifestyles.
 
This program is designed to equip students with technical knowledge that are relevant and applicalbe, to meet the technical challenges of today. Graduates of this program will be well qualified for technical, professional, or managerial positions in government, business, industry and education.
 

 
ABOUT HKUST
 
 
HKUST opened in October 1991 as a technological university dedicated to the advancement of learning and scholarhip, with special emphasis on research, postgraduate education and close collaboration with business and industry. Three of the University's school - Science, Engineering, and Business and Management - provide both undergraduate and postgraduate education. The School of Humanities and Social Science offers postgraduate education and general education for all undergraduates. As the medium of instruction is English, classes aimed at improving English languague skills are required of most students. The Fok Ying Tung Graduate School at Nansha offers postgraduate study opportunities to students from the Mainland and the surronding region.
